- Flickr.com - by far the best place to start. Start putting your photos there. make sure they’re branded or have your copyright symbol at the bottom. Utilize the power of community by submitting your photos to relevant groups. Eventually you’ll have enough users to viewing your photo stream that you won’t need to submit your photos to communities. People will invite to put your photos in certain communities
- Facebook - This is great if you have a large group of facebook friends already. If you don’t it doesn’t really mattter. You can start building friends right away by adding your relatives, friends, coworkers to your friendslist so they can be updated with some of your work every time you publish it to the web.
- Deviantart.com - This website has a large community of users that post and submit their photos online. Many of them will favorite or bookmark your photos.
- Myspace.com - build your own myspacepage. Try to keep it simple. Don’t go overboard with customizing your profile. Market your photos by putting them up in your profile. You don’t need to spam people. Just add your friends as well.
- Blogspot.com - you can have your own free plog right here.
- Twitter.com - post links to your photos
- Modelmayhem.com - This is specific to fashion or model photography. This is a great resource for photographers of that nature
- Dgrin.com - Post your photos in their last photo standing contest. Every once in a while they have a contest among the photographers in the community. It’s free to post, just take the time to shoot something beautiful. The photographers there are very very skilled!
- Smugmug.com - Similar to flickr. This community allows you to rate and tag your photos for other photographers to see. It’s free to join!
- Photographyvoter.com - If you have a blog post your photos in on this website so photographers will rate and vote on your link or entries.
